Frank Hester’s comment that Diane Abbott’s face “makes you want to hate all black women” and that she “should be shot” has simply been taken out of context, he claims. “This is what the media does,” he told reporters, “they distort facts by selectively quoting only incriminating full-sentences that clearly reflect the violent and racist sentiments of those who uttered them.”
Hester expressed his outrage and claimed that if the media could get away with doing this to him, then who knows how many other bigots will become the target of fair and objective reporting. “By cherry-picking phrases, the media could make any one of you look racist so long as you’ve said the racist things that I have.”
At press time, Hester was lamenting the public’s prejudice against morally repugnant people like him.
